Sustainable and ethical, are good adjectives to describe Socially Responsible Investing, Basically we are talking about an investment strategy, the goal of which is to maximize social good as well as financial return.

Socially responsible investors favor corporate best practices that foster one or more of the following: consumer protection, quality, environmental stewardship, human rights, and diversity. Some of these investors (but not all) avoid companies involved in pollution, alcohol, tobacco, gambling, weapons, the military, and/or abortion.
